What You Can Do to Prevent Your Car from Overheating08.12.2012 | Okan Sengullu

Regular maintenance and tune ups will help keep your car from overheating, but you should also take the time to perform a visual inspection on your own from time to time. Check your coolant levels, hoses, and other components of your engine to prevent overheating.

Your coolant reservoir should have markings on the side which let you know where the coolant level should sit. If coolant sits below that level, refill it. Also, be sure to check the hoses and make sure they’re not stiff, brittle, or leaking. Watch this video to learn how to check your radiator and what to do if your car overheats while you’re driving.
