Winter conditions make driving much more difficult and lower the amount of traction available on a road surface. In this short video from Michelin, you can see some tips for safer winter driving.

Accelerating can be difficult in wintry conditions, and turns complicate matters further. Turning and engaging the accelerator forcefully isn’t recommended in winter conditions due to the likelihood of a skid. If you skid, slowly back off the accelerator, look in the direction you want to go, and turn the vehicle in that direction.
